Nev, Practice Manager
Nev’s educational background is very diverse. She has a bachelor’s degree in Finance from Belgrade University in Serbia. She then went on to earn an associate degree in business administration from Montgomery College in Maryland.
Nev’s first priority is making sure that patients are happy and that they receive the highest level of customer service possible. She makes sure that everything runs smoothly at The Smile Group, from training the new employees to managing the doctor’s schedules, and enforcing practice compliance with all policies.
“I love connecting with people. Our patients are like family and I love to see them happy. That is what I love about my job,” she says. After working in various dental practices, she can absolutely say that the way that The Smile Group takes care of its patients is truly unique and highly personalized.
Nev loves taking walks along Lake Michigan with her baby girl and her better half, playing tennis, and going to live music concerts.
Leslie, Treatment Coordinator
Leslie completed her education at Malcolm X College, followed by advanced training and certification in Surgical Technology. She can be found scheduling appointments, discussing treatment options with patients, verifying dental insurance details, and performing other clerical office duties. She loves helping patients receive the best care possible for their overall oral health.
She also loves the team-oriented nature of The Smile Group. She says that the practice is unique because of, “the openness and transparency that the owners give their employees, along with letting staff utilize their strengths to help grow the practice as a whole.”
Outside of work, Leslie enjoys cooking, travelling, outdoor activities, and spending time with her beautiful family.
Jenni, Treatment Coordinator
Jenni received her education at Everest College and worked as a dental surgical assistant before becoming a treatment coordinator. She loves to help patients better understand their dental needs and the financial parts of their treatment so that they can feel relaxed and comfortable during their treatment. She says that the things that make our practice unique are, “Our love of the field of dentistry and the individual care we give to each patient.”
Outside of work, Jenni loves spending time with her husband and children, running, and martial arts (Taekwon Do).
Milena, Registered Dental Hygienist
Milena received her Associate of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene at College of Lake County in 2015. While she was a student, she was able to travel to Bristol, TN to volunteer at a free medical clinic organized by Remote Area Medical, where she gained valuable experience assisting with a variety of dental procedures. She says that practicing dental hygiene is her passion, and that she loves making patients feel comfortable throughout their visit. She is proud to be a member of The Smile Group, because she says that the practice’s priority is treating patients like family members with compassion, respect, and honesty. She also appreciates that the practice is focused on providing the highest quality care with minimally invasive techniques.
Outside of work, Milena enjoys cooking, outdoor activities, and spending time with her family, friends, and her dog, Zuzia.
Cecilia, Dental Assistant
Cecilia may be one of the newest faces at The Smile Group, but she comes with over 14 years of experience in the dental industry. She worked for 7 years as a dental assistant in Argentina, and received her certification as a chairside dental assistant at Professional Training Center in Montreal, Canada, where she also worked for 2 years. She also worked as a surgical dental assistant for 1 year, assisting with complex oral surgeries.
Working in these different locations allowed her to learn how to speak Spanish, English, and French fluently. She says that it also allowed her to really appreciate the beautiful diversity of the different cultures. “What I love about my job is working in a profession that gives me the opportunity to make a difference in people’s lives by offering comfort while helping them reach their ideal oral health.”
Cecilia says that The Smile Group is unique because its compassionate individuals working effectively as a unity toward a common goal of taking care of all of the patients needs with state-of-the-art equipment and technology. She says, “The Smile Group is the first practice that I can say has the warmest and most comfortable environment for patients and staff.”
Outside of work, Cecilia enjoys outdoor activities with family and friends, playing piano, and most importantly – spending time with her husband.
Sarina, Dental Assistant
Sarina received her Diploma in Dental Assisting at Everest College, learning how to assist in a variety of dental procedures while providing comfort and assurance to patients. You’ll find her preparing the treatment rooms before your arrival, as well as all of the sterilized instruments required for your individual treatment that day. Sarina maintains a safe and clean working environment, complying with strict rules and regulations and assisting the doctors throughout the procedures.
She loves working at The Smile Group because, “What’s most important to me is finding a place where individuals want to work together, as a true team. I see that reflected here and love that.” She also appreciates the friendly, accommodating office staff who are always working to bring a smile to their patients with quality dental services.
Sarina loves travelling, exploring new places, and spending quality time with her family.
